Prof. Shitala Prasad, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Mathematics and Computer Science at Indian Institute of Technology Goa, where he leads the AI/ML research efforts focused on advancing deep learning, computer vision, and intelligent perception systems. His research spans deep learning for real-world visual understanding, pattern recognition, biometrics, biomedical imaging, aerial and underwater vision, and AI-driven industrial applications. Before joining IIT Goa, Dr. Prasad served as Scientist II at the Visual Intelligence Department of the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR, Singapore, and has held research and postdoctoral positions at leading institutions, including NTU Singapore and CNRS, France. With a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Dr. Prasad has made significant contributions to the fields of machine learning and vision through high-impact publications, interdisciplinary collaborations, and mentorship of students and researchers.
